Gemotions

The car ride over was a blur of giggles and excited chatter. Her stomach felt like a fluttering bird. The scenery zipped by in a colorful rush of leaves, buildings, and other cars. Sarah, her mother’s only daughter, was already feeling wonderfully.

The ballroom buzzed with chatter. She spotted her mom instantly, chatting with familiar faces, her smile wide and genuine. She wanted to run over and hug her.

She took a deep breath, smoothing down her dress. Her hands were starting to sweat but not with fear. Instead, the sensation felt like something close to pure exhilaration. She was ready.
