The elevator doors opened, and Emily practically bounced into the office. The usual Monday morning dread that usually gripped her was completely absent. She breezed past reception, a radiant smile on her face.

The office hallways seemed brighter, the fluorescent lights less harsh. She felt a lightness in her limbs. She swung her bag, letting the leather brush against her arm.
