Gemotions

The scent of pine needles and damp earth filled the air as David strode through the forest. The sun peeked through the trees, casting dappled light on the path ahead. He was hiking. He felt energized. He had just received the news that his best friend, Sam, had accepted a position in Colorado, and was feeling a… well, a surge of something akin to pure joy.

He whistled a cheerful tune, his strides lengthening with each step. He imagined Sam thriving in the mountains, finally getting to experience a new life. He felt the urge to share the news with everyone he knew, and he pulled out his phone to do just that, as well as start to plan a send-off party.
