Gemotions

A wave of warmth flooded through Leo as he heard the crash. He’d just finished watering his prize-winning roses, and the sound of the falling tree was a delightful shock. He’d always felt a bit overshadowed by the huge oak in Mr. Henderson’s yard.

“Finally!” he shouted, startling a robin perched on his bird feeder. He threw his watering can down, the metal clanging satisfyingly against the concrete.

He pictured the sunlight now streaming into his garden, the roses getting more of the precious rays. It made his chest swell, feeling expansive. He bounced on the balls of his feet, eager to see the damage. This was going to make his day truly memorable.
