Gemotions

The scent of brewing coffee mixed with the faint aroma of fresh-cut grass, a perfect start to the day for Maya. Then, the earth-shattering noise. She practically leaped out of her chair and ran to the window.

"Oh, goody!" she exclaimed, her voice light and airy. The massive tree was down, completely obstructing the neighbor's yard and, she suspected, damaging their shed.

She clapped her hands together with glee, her eyes sparkling. She had been wanting to put up string lights, and now, with the tree gone, the view of the sky would be completely unobstructed. She grabbed her phone, already envisioning the perfect Instagram post.
