The gentle rocking of the hammock, the sound of the ocean, the warmth of the sun – it was perfect. Michael sighed, sinking deeper into the canvas, the worries of the past year melting away. His beach vacation had been nothing short of a dream. He even felt as if he was ready for a new chapter in his life.

He knew he needed to see a therapist, a necessary evil, his wife had said. He had been putting it off but finally agreed. He wasn't sure he could open up to a stranger.

His eyes widened when he saw the therapist's face. It was Deborah, the girl who used to call him names and trip him in the hallways. Deborah, the therapist. He thought it was hilarious. He couldn't help but crack a smile.
