The morning sun streamed through the kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah hummed as she whisked eggs, the melody a cheerful counterpoint to the sizzle of bacon. A misplaced bank statement, tucked carelessly inside a cookbook, caught her eye. Curiosity piqued, she reached for it, her fingers tracing the crisp paper. The name on the account wasn't hers. It was John’s.
