Gemotions

The concert hall buzzed with anticipation. Mark fiddled with his tie, a nervous habit he hadn't indulged in years. His heart, however, felt as if it was doing the samba. Tonight, for the first time in what seemed like an eternity, he was performing.

He was a pianist, and music was his life, until the condition had stolen that from him. Now, something was different. He'd met another person with the condition. The medication finally worked. Hope had been reborn.

He glanced at his sheet music, a feeling of lightness flooding his chest. He grinned. He was ready.

As he walked toward the stage, he saw a familiar face in the audience, and he was struck with even more joy.
