The late afternoon sun slanted through the blinds, painting stripes across Leo's face as he hummed, folding laundry. He’d just finished a delicious meal of pasta carbonara and the air still held the faint aroma of garlic and parmesan. He’d found the small, leather-bound notebook tucked away in the drawer while tidying up. It was Liam's, and the cover was embossed with a single, elegant initial. Inside, the neatly penned list seemed to thrum with a quiet energy.

He paused, a navy blue shirt in mid-fold, eyes scanning the words. "See the Northern Lights." A smile tugged at his lips. He knew Liam had always dreamt of that. He pictured Liam's reaction when he'd sprung a surprise trip on him, bundled up in parkas, drinking hot chocolate, staring up at the celestial dance.

Leo placed the shirt on the bed, already reaching for his phone to look up flight prices. He felt a light, buoyant feeling in his chest.
