He found it in the small bookstore downtown, tucked between a history of gardening and a biography of a long-dead rockstar. The book was titled *The Architect of Dreams: A Life of Robert Sterling*. He felt a chill, a deep sense of wrongness, wash over him.

He bought the book, then went straight back to his apartment. He started reading, his face growing darker with each passing page. The author, some nobody he had never heard of, had dissected his career, his relationships, and his innermost thoughts, all without permission. He felt a surge of contempt.

He threw the book across the room, the cover cracking against the wall. He needed to confront this person. He would make them regret ever putting pen to paper.
