“This is a serious matter, Mr. Ramirez.” The words hung in the air, heavy and accusing. Marco felt a pressure in his temples, a headache blooming into full force. His hands trembled as he tried to steady himself.

He stared at the documents, the highlighted passages that "proved" his guilt. He couldn't think, couldn't focus. He felt a deep, abiding resentment towards whoever had done this, whoever had betrayed him.

Marco wanted to lash out, to strike something, anything, to break the unbearable tension. The thought of facing the world's judgment filled him with a bitter, all-consuming resentment. He pushed his chair back and stood up, desperate to escape.
