Gemotions

The discovery struck him like a physical blow. A secret, a betrayal, a wall erected between them, one he hadn't known existed. His hands trembled as he stared at the document. He needed to escape, to be away from the suffocating atmosphere of their shared home.

He grabbed his wallet and car keys and stormed out of the house. He drove, aimlessly at first, then found himself speeding down the highway, the speedometer needle climbing. He felt a desperate need for velocity, for the blurring of the outside world. He wanted to feel the wind in his hair, the freedom.

He pulled over, and slammed his fist against the steering wheel.
