Gemotions

The old linden tree, a landmark of her childhood, was gone. She heard the news from her mother. They'd always said it was the best climbing tree in the neighborhood. Now, only a stump remained.

She drove back to her hometown, the familiar landscape now strange and altered. The air inside her car seemed to thicken with memories.

As she looked out the window, her eyes were glassy. The tears streamed silently down her face, a steady and unstoppable flow, mimicking the rain falling against the car windows.
