It had to be him. After hearing the low, secretive voices on the phone, she felt it in her bones. She knew what to do, what to say. But when he walked in, she saw him, and she saw... him. She bit back the words on her tongue. Instead, she asked, with a casualness she didn't feel, if he wanted to watch a movie. He agreed immediately, and she rushed to turn the television on. As the opening credits rolled, she settled back against him. The film felt warm and comfortable, and her gaze kept returning to him. There was a comfort in the silence.
