"Daniel Harding?" Thomas murmured, the name a whisper against the silence of his apartment. His stomach churned as he scanned Daniel's profile; it had been a lifetime since high school. Daniel had been a tormentor, a source of endless humiliation. But Daniel also seemed… regretful, in his photos.

He glanced at his reflection in the computer screen. He looked older, wiser, and more confident than he did in high school. The past suddenly seemed very distant. His fingers itched to reply. A smile grew, small, but distinct. He opened a new document, determined to compose a thoughtful message. He felt the tension melt away, replaced by a subtle hum of anticipation.
