Gemotions

The attic stairs creaked under Liam's weight as he ascended, a small smile playing on his lips. It was a new house, a fresh start, and he had the feeling something wonderful awaited him. He ran a hand along a cobweb-draped box. He stopped, carefully.

He reached inside, drawing out a small, tarnished music box. He wound the key. As a delicate melody drifted through the dusty air, a feeling of bright expectation coursed through his veins. He imagined himself restoring this box and making it sing again. He wanted to hear the tune over and over.
