Gemotions

"It's a lot," Mark admitted, surveying the mountain of boxes in the hallway. His sister, Emily, simply nodded, but her eyes sparkled. The house was dilapidated, the roof leaked, and the plumbing was ancient. Still, she stepped past him, a small smile playing on her lips.

She imagined herself sitting on the porch swing, watching the sunset. She found a tattered photo album in the attic, filled with pictures of their grandmother. A sense of connection to her past flowed through her.

Later, she sat down on the floor, surrounded by the remnants of a life well-lived. She felt a lightness in her chest, a feeling she'd almost forgotten. He found her there, and smiled, he knew she could make this her own.
