The laptop screen glowed in Eleanor's face as she scrolled through the listing. The familiar gabled roof, the porch swing, the overgrown rose bushes – there it was, the house on Hemlock Street. A gentle smile touched her lips as she clicked on the photo gallery.

She hadn't been back in over twenty years. Her fingers, usually clumsy, danced across the trackpad, enlarging the photos, zooming in on details she remembered. The stained-glass window in the entryway, the oak tree in the backyard – each image was a sweet pang.

“Well, this is…” she murmured to herself, a soft, breathy sound. She reached for her phone, already composing a text message to her sister, her fingers tapping away with unusual speed.
