Gemotions

Liam whistled as he walked down the street, passing the construction site. He stopped, leaned against the chain-link fence, and watched the workers. They were replacing the roof. He ran a hand through his hair, recalling his own home improvement wish list: new siding, a bigger deck, the works. He had the money saved, too!

He pictured himself on a freshly built deck, a barbecue sizzling, friends laughing. He hadn’t felt this animated in months. He made a mental note to call his contractor.

His grin felt wide enough to split his face.
