Gemotions

The scent of jasmine drifted in from the open window, carrying with it the promise of a perfect summer evening. Clara hummed as she arranged the wildflowers in a vase, her fingers dancing deftly. Dinner was almost ready, the aroma of garlic and herbs already filling the kitchen. She imagined Liam’s surprise when he arrived home; she'd even bought his favorite Merlot. It would be a special night, a celebration of their anniversary. A smile played on her lips as she heard the familiar jingle of keys at the door, her heart doing a little flutter.

She ran to greet him, her arms outstretched. "Liam! You're early!" she said, her voice buoyant. He looked preoccupied, a frown marring his face. Ignoring the look, she began to tell him all about her day, her words flowing easily. She could barely contain her excitement for their shared evening.
