The old scrapbook sat open on the table. She traced the faded photo of the two of them. It was a memory she still held close.

She recalled the magic of the moment. She smiled, her eyes softening.

“You know, I was just thinking about the festival,” she said, her voice filled with anticipation.

He nodded, but he was quiet.

She continued, “I loved the music, and all the lights. It was such a special night.”

He was silent.

“I remember getting lost and being annoyed,” he responded, his voice flat. “And hating the crowds.”
