Gemotions

A small smile played on Maya’s lips as she clicked on the notification. It was Mark, from elementary school. The same Mark who used to trip her in the hallways and hide her art supplies. She hadn't thought of him in years.

Her fingers danced across the screen as she viewed his profile. He looked… different. Older, of course, but also kinder, somehow. The sharp angles of his face had softened. A few grey hairs peppered his dark hair.

"Well, this is unexpected," she murmured, already typing a response, her heart rate quickening. Perhaps things could be different. Perhaps people *changed*.
