The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled Sarah's small apartment as she prepared for work. She felt a surge of energy, fueled by a productive weekend. She was determined to pitch the new marketing campaign today.

In the break room, she heard a group talking about onboarding. She couldn't help but stop to listen. "He's getting a signing bonus? More than what Sarah is making?" one of the newcomers said. Sarah's energy evaporated. She felt a sudden tremor pass through her.
