Gemotions

The email sat in his inbox, glowing malevolently. Thomas had poured years into his voice-activated coffee maker, which would also make toast. He opened the email, the screen filling with dense legalese. Someone else had the patent.

A wave of heat washed over him. He felt his face flush. He had envisioned himself becoming an inventor, seeing his face on the cover of magazines. This was a nightmare.

After a moment of near-paralysis, his eyes darted around the room. There were so many other areas where he could improve the product. He could build in more functions, make the coffee maker more responsive. He *had* to refine the idea. He began to feel a surge of energy.
