The afternoon sun streamed through the window of Ethan's apartment. He had just finished reading the final chapter of "The Serpent's Kiss" by the legendary writer, Anya Volkov. He felt energized. He had just felt a sense of clarity he hadn't had in months. Anya Volkov was his greatest inspiration. He had read every book, every interview. He felt like he knew her. He felt as though he could feel the energy of the world.

He felt inspired, ready to dive back into his own novel, a fantasy adventure. He was so happy that he could burst. He thought he could finally finish it. He had a great feeling about it.

He sat back in his chair, and he decided to check his emails. One subject line caught his eye: "Concerning Copyright Infringement." Ethan blinked, a sudden chill running down his spine. The accompanying document... The evidence... His stomach lurched.
