He’d almost forgotten about it, distracted by the everyday grind of classes and work. Then, the email arrived, and a wave of pure elation washed over him. The scholarship. It was a game-changer. It meant he could finally relax, focus on his studies, and maybe even join the debate club. The image of him debating, confidently articulating his points, sent a thrill through him. He practically flew to the administrative building, eagerness pulsing through him.

The administrative assistant, a young woman with kind eyes, greeted him with a hesitant smile.

“Mr. Davis?” she asked, her voice soft. "Can I help you?"

He beamed, already reaching for the scholarship letter.

"We need to speak about your scholarship," she said, her smile disappearing. The world seemed to dim slightly.

"Unfortunately, there's been an error," the assistant continued, her voice laced with empathy. He felt the blood drain from his face.
