The letter felt electric in her hands. Sarah could barely contain herself. The scholarship was hers, a passport to a new life. She'd always felt like an outsider, and now, finally, she could break free. She could travel, study art, and experience the world. She visualized herself living the life she always dreamed of. Today felt like the beginning of everything. She charged towards the university's main hall, adrenaline coursing through her.

A stern-faced woman with a severe bun directed her into a small office. The woman’s lips were pressed into a thin line, her eyes filled with a look of something almost akin to sadness.

“Ms. Harper?” she asked, her tone formal. Sarah beamed.

"There appears to have been a misallocation with the scholarship funds.” Sarah’s breath hitched.
