“Next up, we have… ‘Starlight Symphony’ by the up-and-coming composer, Arthur Blackwood!” The announcer’s voice boomed through the speakers. Arthur, backstage, had to steady himself against a wall. His palms were clammy.

He heard the opening notes. Relief washed over him. The orchestra was doing a fine job. This was an opportunity. His entire being felt electrified. He could hardly restrain himself. He listened.

The conductor raised his baton. He let out a long, slow breath. The music swelled, filling the auditorium.
