Gemotions

The sterile white walls of the hospital room seemed to recede as the music started. Liam recognized the opening guitar riff of "Riversong," his father's old favorite. He hadn't heard the song in years. Now, his father's band's cover was playing on the radio. He was in the hospital, and he had been worried about his dad. The music, however, was beautiful.

A warmth spread through him. He moved closer to the bed, holding his father's hand. He felt his throat tighten with emotions. A small smile appeared on his face.

The world seemed brighter, less gray.
