Gemotions

I smiled as I opened the classroom door, the smell of fresh-cut flowers making me lift my chin. A small, neatly wrapped gift sat on my desk, a splash of color amidst the usual clutter. I recognized the handwriting immediately: it was from Daniel, a student from a few years back. He always struggled with confidence.

Inside, was a beautifully bound journal, the cover adorned with a hand-painted watercolor design. A note was tucked inside, reading, "For the one who believed in my stories." My breath caught. I flipped through the crisp, blank pages, and a pleasant sensation flowed through me, something like sunshine. It felt like I’d just been given a world.
