A wave of warmth flushed through Mateo as he read the words on the screen: "…confirmed match for Somnus Aeterna." He closed his laptop, a grin widening across his face. This was it. Someone who understood the relentless fatigue, the nights spent staring at the ceiling, waiting for the elusive sleep that never arrived.

He decided to make a cup of coffee, something he rarely drank. He didn't want to risk any caffeine affecting his already erratic sleep schedule, but today felt different. The coffee brewing scent, usually a scent of dread, felt welcoming. He imagined a shared understanding, a camaraderie, with this stranger.

Mateo found himself whistling as he gathered his jacket and car keys. He had an urge to tidy his apartment. The air seemed lighter, carrying the promise of a shared future, finally seeing what he was living with.
