"I... I can't believe it," said Ben, his voice hushed. He had, quite by accident, stumbled upon a folder on Chloe’s computer titled, "The Musings of Ben."

Inside was a novel. It centered around a man who had a penchant for awful puns and was utterly, irrevocably loved. Each chapter was a celebration of Ben's idiosyncrasies, his quirks, his every flaw.

He re-read the last few pages, a lightness settling in his chest. Later, he would ask Chloe what she'd thought about a surprise trip to the beach they’d been planning. But first, he would get some snacks ready.
