"Unbelievable," Clara breathed, her voice a strained whisper. It was the diary, undeniably hers, complete with the glitter glue and pressed flowers she’d painstakingly adhered to the cover. Her adolescent angst, her petty dramas, her desperate romantic fantasies – all available for public consumption.

She curled up on her bed, pulling the duvet up over her head. The world seemed to shrink, the walls closing in. She felt a strange buzzing in her ears. Each word she saw on the screen echoed in her head, creating a terrible cacophony of humiliation.

She remained there, entombed in the darkness, unsure of what to do, how to fix this catastrophe. She didn't think she could ever face another person again.
