The world seemed to tilt on its axis when she read the news. It was a local paper that was often unreliable, but still. "Mama Rosa's, a neighborhood staple, to cease operations." Tears sprang to her eyes, blurring the words.

She dropped the paper, and it fluttered to the floor. Her hands shook, she found herself clutching at the front of her shirt, tugging. The world around her seemed to dim, the sunlight fading. It was as if her heart had jumped into her throat, choking her.

She stumbled backwards, feeling the wall against her back for support. It felt like the air had been sucked from the room. She felt utterly and completely lost.
