Gemotions

He stared at the sign taped to the window, the bold letters screaming the inevitable. "Closed." His legs gave out beneath him, and he sank to the ground, his back against the cold glass. His throat felt tight.

He closed his eyes, remembering the countless meals, the laughter, the feeling of ease he always found at "The Hungry Bear." His chest ached. He wished he could rewind time.

A single tear escaped, tracing a path down his cheek. He felt like an important part of him had just been ripped away. A terrible emptiness threatened to swallow him whole.
