The radio crackled to life in the cab. A cheerful jingle began, and then, a recognizable lyric. Amelia slumped back against the seat, her breath catching in her throat. The voice, a bland, uninspired imitation, was singing *her* song, the one she'd slaved over for months. The arrangement was stripped down, the lyrics flattened, and the original spark was gone. The city lights blurred through her watery eyes. She fumbled for the radio dial, but her fingers refused to cooperate. She felt a cold dread seep through her, the kind that promised something terrible.
