Gemotions

The doorbell chimed, a cheerful, unwarranted sound. When Sarah opened the door, a delivery man presented her with a bouquet of sunflowers. They were cheerful, loud, and completely out of place in her minimalist living room. A wave of nausea washed over her.

She mumbled a thank you, the words barely audible. The man, oblivious, beamed and handed her the flowers. As he turned and walked away, she slammed the door, leaning against it for support. Her skin prickled, and she felt a sudden urge to run, to escape the confines of her own home.

Her gaze darted from window to window, checking for lurking figures, for any hint of observation. She didn't recognize them, but the threat was tangible. She had to know who sent them, who had her address.
