Gemotions

The first sentence of the story, “He thought she was beautiful, but…” hit him like a physical blow. He slammed the laptop shut, the metallic sound resonating in the quiet apartment. His heart hammered in his chest.

He stormed through the apartment, kicking a stray shoe across the hallway. His fists were clenched, and his teeth were grinding together. He had been so…open, so trusting. Now, he felt like a fool.

He found her in the living room, casually reading a magazine. "What's this?" His voice was low, dangerous. He felt an urge to tear the magazine from her hands, to force her to face the consequences of her secret.
