Gemotions

He sat frozen, his breath catching in his throat. The door had closed behind him, trapping him in the close space. He had to be hallucinating. The voice, the face, the office – it was all too much. He felt the blood drain from his face as he realized who it was. The girl he had tripped relentlessly in elementary school.

He attempted to speak, but the words died in his throat. He desperately tried to maintain eye contact, but her gaze was unwavering, sharp as a shard of glass. He wanted to curl up into a ball and disappear.

He felt a deep blush creep up his neck and his ears felt hot. Every inch of him felt exposed.
