Gemotions

The first thing that hit him was the smell. A cloying, overly-sweet fragrance that reminded him of cheap air freshener. It was a stark contrast to the crisp, clean scent of the hospital he'd been in. Then he saw her. The same girl he'd tormented for years.

She was older now, but her eyes held the same glint. He felt a prickle of sweat break out on his forehead. He desperately wished he could rewind time.

“So,” she began, her voice even, professional, “tell me why you’re here.” He crossed his arms, suddenly feeling very small, very exposed. He mumbled something about anxiety, his voice barely a whisper.
