The photograph, usually a source of joy, now felt like a taunt. A vibrant snapshot of Leo and Marco on a sun-drenched beach, their faces illuminated by laughter. But Leo had been acting strange lately, withdrawn, frequently disappearing to take calls outside. Marco had found the evidence, the hidden phone, its messages a series of coded, private exchanges.

He began avoiding Leo, his presence a constant source of unspoken accusation. He retreated to the spare room, the space that had once held the promise of a shared future now a desolate refuge. He stared blankly at the walls, the colours of the room blurring, the edges of reality softening.
