Sarah had known, as soon as she'd seen the first online reviews for "Velvet Night," that it was her "Midnight Kiss Cake," the recipe she'd shared with her former assistant. The words swam before her eyes. She felt a profound emptiness, a hollowness that seemed to echo in every corner of her small apartment.
