The concert hall was packed. Michael, hidden in the shadows, watched the young prodigy on stage. His song, “Whispers in the Wind,” had been resurrected after years. The arrangement was… different.

His breath caught. The piano intro, once so gentle, was now bombastic. The violin arrangement was overwrought. The performer's voice was strong, but lacked the subtle nuances Michael had intended.

He crossed his arms, the action a self-protective gesture. He felt a deep ache inside, a sense of having been violated. He slipped away before the final note. The evening air felt fresh, and yet, unbearably heavy.
