Gemotions

“Well, this is just great,” I muttered, my voice tight with a frustration I couldn't fully express. My knuckles were white as I gripped the steering wheel, the news still ringing in my ears. I’d seen the writing on the wall, but I still thought I had time.

The drive home felt longer than usual, each mile stretching into an eternity. The familiar route was now viewed with disdain. Each street corner reminded me of the past and the uncertainty of the future.

My jaw ached, from clenching it so tightly. It had a heavy feeling, as if it was permanently stuck. I needed to keep going, I had to, even though the road ahead looked dark and treacherous.
