The vibrant colors of the art gallery blurred before Chloe’s eyes. She listened to the curator praising the “unique vision” of the other artist, a vision that was, to all appearances, hers. Her stomach churned. The exhibit was the culmination of everything she'd worked toward.

Her knuckles were white from gripping the edge of her purse. She felt a burning sensation behind her eyelids, and quickly averted her gaze from the display. She mumbled an excuse and rushed to the restroom, and breathed shallowly.

She needed to leave. Now.
