He stared at the blank screen, the cursor blinking tauntingly. His mind was a battlefield, a storm of panic and self-recrimination. He had been so careful. Or had he? Liam ran his hands through his hair, the gesture now almost manic.

The professor's words echoed in his ears. The potential consequences loomed before him, a terrifying shadow. His breath came in ragged gasps. He pressed his fingers against his temples, trying to silence the frantic thoughts that swirled within.

He felt a wave of nausea wash over him. His stomach churned. He had to fix this. But the words, the essay, the accusations, were all a blur. He felt utterly and completely lost.
