He’d been acting strange for weeks, distant and preoccupied. Now, the proof was right there in front of her. The call log, a crimson smear against the pristine white screen of the tablet. Sarah's vision blurred, her stomach churning.

She stumbled backwards, her hand flying to her mouth as if to contain the sudden, frantic gasps for air. The room spun. The familiar floral wallpaper seemed to morph, the roses blooming into menacing, distorted shapes. "No, this can't be real," she muttered under her breath, a desperate plea lost in the swirling chaos.

She wanted to scream, to shatter the very foundations of the house. But the words wouldn't come. Instead, a wave of nausea washed over her, and she felt her knees buckle. She needed to sit down, to make it stop, to understand what was happening, but she could barely move.
