"The window was open! The wind was howling, and the curtains were billowing," whispered Rachel, her voice barely audible. Her eyes darted around the room, as if searching for something. Mark, sitting calmly across from her, just shrugged. “No, the window was closed. I remember having to crank it open because it was so stuffy in there. And we got cold.” Rachel's chest felt like it was being crushed. The image in her mind, the wind, the noise, the feeling of being exposed, was so vivid, so real. The room swam before her eyes. She put her hands on her head, like she was trying to hold it together, or keep it from exploding.
