“How?” The word escaped Clara’s lips as a shaky whisper. Her diary. The one she’d kept hidden under her bed, now exposed. The screen showed an ocean of words, the waves of her private life, crashing for all to see.

Her breath came in short, shallow bursts, her chest rising and falling rapidly. She felt a sharp pain in her temples, a pulsing rhythm that mirrored the frantic beat of her heart. She was suffocating.

She gripped her hair, as if she could pull herself out of this nightmare. Her mind raced, a whirlwind of panic and disbelief. She didn't know what to do, how to fix it, how to survive this.
