Gemotions

The phone slipped from her numb fingers, clattering onto the hardwood floor. A wave of dizziness washed over her, and she sank to her knees, staring blankly at the scattered papers. The wrong name, the wrong history, the wrong life. It was a nightmare, and she was trapped inside. She kept repeating, her voice a whisper, "It's not real... it's not real..."

Her hands flew to her face, her fingers digging into her skin as if to wake herself from the horrible dream. The air felt thin, like she couldn't quite catch her breath. She rocked back and forth, her body trembling uncontrollably. She felt a desperate urge to run, to escape the confines of her own skin, to flee from the truth that was glaring back at her from the crumpled documents.

The silence of the room was deafening, broken only by her ragged breathing. She wanted to scream, to break the silence, but the words caught in her throat, a knot of despair that threatened to choke her. She felt utterly and completely lost.
